Hello blog readers. Sorry I have not posted in FOREVER. I have been crazy busy but finally I am getting some time to post. (: So anyway as some of you may know, I LOVE to sew and recently I have found a new love of repurposing old clothing. I got the idea to first start repurposing clothing while visiting my cousin this summer. While I was out visiting her I saw this book called Little Green Dresses by Tina Sparkles. If any of you like to sew and are interested in learning how to repurpose clothing I highly recommend getting this book. Anyway my first project was a simple button down skirt. What I made actually is not in the book and sadly I have not yet gotten around to creating anything from the book yet but when I get some free time it is top on my list of things to do! Anyway here is the outfit I wore with the skirt I repurposed.
Earings: Vonmaur
Shirt: Pacsun
Scarf: Charlotte Rouse
Skirt: Made by me
Socks: The Gap
Shoes: DSW
If you look in the first picture you can see that this skirt started as an old dress. I first cut off the top then took in multipe inches on the side. After that I added in a waist band. Finally I hemmed it to the length I wanted. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this.
Until next time L.O.L. (lots of love)

Bold Blue Cheetah
Before this year I could not paint my nails to any extent. I would get more polish on my finger than my nail. Then one day I decided that I wanted to be able to paint my nails so I started painting them once a week. After a few weeks I was now getting more paint on my nail than finger! Once I became good at painting my nails solid colors I tried different techniques. The technique that I'm using in this post is a really simple cheetah print.
First you start with a coat of clear to keep your nail from yellowing.
After your nails dry you begin the chettah design. To make the half crescent shape use either a dotter tool or I use the rounded end of a bobby pin. I did not have a black nail polish so i used a very dark purple that almost looks black.
Finally after the crescents dry use your dotting tool or bobby pin to make one white dot in the middle of each crescent. After the white dries put one more coat of clear to finish everything off.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post and will try this super easy technique.

Merry Go Round
So while on vacation my family decided to go to this merry go round museum which was probably one of the coolest museums ever.
I thought it was so cool how much time and effort the workers put into building all the animals. They put some crazy number of hours starting with blocks of basswood slowly carving away until they have an animal.
Dragon (I think) |
This is definatly my favorite animal there (: |
not sure why this was at the museum |
how they refurbish the animals |
FUN FACT: only frog carousel animals wear clothes |
Our tour guide said this horse was made out of both wood and metal and the wood on the inside is so rotted that if you touch the inside it crumbles |
These two pictures have absolutly nothing to do with the museum but I found these nearby outside and thought they were extreamly awesome, so I just had to put these in this post (:
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this.

Thankyou!
I would like to give a BIG thanks to Sharmaine Ruth for designing and creating the current header for this blog. When I saw the header for her blog Under Peach Trees I loved it! So when she offered to make me one I automatically said yes. Once again I would like to say thanks!

Sharmaine Ruth's Hair and Outfit
Those of you who read the blog Under Peach Trees may now Sharmaine Ruth. The two of us have been friend since 8th grade and have known each other since 6th grade. We decided to help each other with our blogs so she takes my photos and I design her outfits and occationally do her hair.
Outfit: Her look has a black blazer jacket, floral tanktop, white shorts, black sandals, pearl bracelet, fake pearl necklace, and her super cute glasses (which are actually perscription!). I do not know where these peice are from (sorry). In this outfit I was aiming for a laid back jouranlist look. The blazer, glasses, and pearls add sophistication while the sandals, floral tank, and shorts make the look more casual.
Hair: For her lovely locks I started with a pony tail on the top of her head. Then I braided her pony tail tying it off with a hari tie. After that I wrapped it around pinning it into place creating a super cute bun! My insperation for this bun came to me when I was looking through a Nordstrom magazine.
Till next time L.O.L.

Funky Fringe
Vest: Nordstrom
Shirt: Oldnavy
Skirt: American Eagle
Earrings: Delia's
Necklace: American Eagle
Bracelet: Nordstrom
Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Shoe Carnival
The inspiration for this outfit came from the vest. I knew that nomatter what I wanted to wear the vest today. After going through almost every skirt and shorts I own my favorite combination was that skirt with the vest. I like how nothing in the outfit really matches but it all has the same kinda vibe so it goes (ex: there is no bright blue anywhere in the outfit beyond my necklace but since it has the same style as the vest it goes). I'd say this is a casual outfit good for hanging out with friends or running a few errands.

Nordstrom Haul
On July 15th Nordstrom began their anniversary sale. This sale goes to the end of July and everything from clothes to shoes to bags are all on sale. These six items above I purchased at the anniversary sale. The three pairs of jeans are vigoss and I purchased them in the bp department. The first two pairs are skinny and the third pair is bootcut. The shoes i got were the butterfly sperrys with just the plain mesh sides (purchased them in shoes). Once again I bought the vest and sweater in the bp department. I love the fringe on the rusty red vest I bought. Its totally in this season. I call the sweater my grandma sweater. (: Nordstrom also had this sweater in another print that my friend purchased. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post.
Till next time L.O.L. (lots of love)

10 Golden Rules
- NEVER EVER (with very few exceptions that I will name in a later post) buy anything unless it is on sale. In almost any store you will go into there will be things on sale and if you look hard enough you can find clothing (or what ever your looking for) for that current season.
- If you have something like it don't buy it. Since you own something similar to this item you probably like it so it is understandable that you are drawn to it. But the chances of you wearing it if you already own it are slim to none.
- Only bring as much money as you are willing to spend. I know this is kind of an obvious one but it is a mistake I have often made.
- Don't buy clothing online unless you have tried it on in the store. Unless you always shop at that store and know 100% what looks good on your body and what doesn't, it is hard to be sure you like something unless you know its going to fit.
- The three outfits rule. Before you purchase an item think to yourself: 'Can I make three different outfits with this piece I am about to buy?' If the answer is yes go ahead and buy it. If the answer is no put it back on the rack.
- If you are not sure you want an item, put it on hold and come back. This way you can look the rest of your shopping trip to see if you will find anything better.
- Join Store Subscriptions/ Memberships. Most of them are free and from these you can get discounts and coupons.
- Shop frequently. This does not mean you always have to spend money. Window shopping is an easy way to get an idea of things you want to save for. This way you can also keep an eye out for upcoming sales.
- If you think an item is only OK do not purchase it. The chances of you wearing an only okay item are unlikely. You should instead save the money you were going to spend and use it on a totally awesome item.
- Allow yourself to splurge every once in a while. This rule TOTALLY contradicts the first rule but that is okay. We all deserve something nice every so often.
I hope these rules will help you be more successful the next time you go shopping

Floral Fun
Dress: H&M
Belt: Forever21
Shoes: Lands End Canvas
Socks: Gap
Cardigan: Fossil
Necklace: Vintage
Earrings: Vintage
This is one of my favorite summer outfits. Its perfect for almost any occasion. How I'm wearing it in these photos is more dressed up. If you wanted to make it casual you could easily switch the heels for a pair of oxford shoes or really casual and go for flip flops. When it gets cold at night (or when your in air conditioning) the cardigan adds a little bit of warmth.
